Shipping FAQ
What do I need to do to get free shipping?
We offer a free shipping option on all orders over $75! Free shipping is sent via USPS Media mail. Free shipping is available only within the continental United States.
When will my BarristerBooks.com order ship?
Orders placed before 3:30 p.m. CST on a business day are typically shipped the same day. Orders placed after 3:30 p.m. CST are generally shipped the next business day. Business days exclude weekends and holidays. Most items ship within one business day. However, if a product page indicates a longer processing time — such as "ships within 1–2 business days" — please allow the full stated timeframe. For example, a 2nd Business Day Air order placed at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday for an item marked "ships within 1–2 business days" may not ship until Thursday.
When will I receive my BarristerBooks.com order?
Unless otherwise noted on the product page, most orders ship from our warehouse within one business day. Estimated delivery times by shipping method are as follows: Free Shipping / USPS Media Mail: 4–10 business days Ground Expedited: 2–4 business days from shipment — our most popular shipping option! 2nd Business Day Air: Delivered on the second business day after shipment
Can I get a shipping confirmation email and tracking number for my BarristerBooks.com order?
Once your order leaves our warehouse, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email within 1–3 hours. It will include a tracking number and a link so you can monitor your shipment every step of the way.
Does BarristerBooks.com require a signature for delivery on shipments?
Signature requirements depend on your order total. Orders under $500 don't require a signature, while orders over $500 may. Delivery drivers also have discretion to withhold delivery if they deem the drop-off location unsafe — in that case, they'll leave a notice with details on the next delivery attempt or pickup options. If you can't be available for the next attempt, simply sign the back of the notice and leave it for the driver.
My tracking number claims that the package was delivered, but I don't have it. What do I do?
If the shipper confirms delivery but you can't locate your package, contact the shipper directly for details. Packages delivered to apartment complexes are often left with a neighbor, building manager or mailroom. If your tracking info shows a signature, the name listed can help you identify who accepted the delivery on your behalf. If you're still unable to locate your package after following these steps, please reach out to us at custserv@BarristerBooks.com.
My tracking number doesn't seem to be working. What's wrong?
If your tracking number isn't working, here are a few things to check. It may simply not be active yet — we process orders quickly, and it can take a few hours for tracking information to appear in the shipper's system. Also, make sure you're entering your tracking number on the correct shipper's website (e.g., a FedEx tracking number won't work on the USPS site). If your tracking number still isn't working after a few hours, please contact us at custserv@barristerbooks.com.
What are Shipping Surcharges and when do they apply?
Shipping surcharges of $10 apply in two situations and are automatically calculated at checkout: Remote Locations (AK, HI, GU, PR & VI):  2nd Business Day Air shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands include a $10 surcharge. Heavy Items: 2nd Business Day Air shipments containing a single item over 10 lbs. include a $10 surcharge. Eligible items are noted on their respective product pages.
Can I select USPS Media Mail for orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands?
We do not suggest USPS Media Mail shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands as it may take an extra 4 - 8 weeks for delivery.

Rental FAQ
Why rent?
With textbook prices continuing to rise, renting has become an increasingly popular and smart alternative. Renting allows you to get the textbook you need at a fraction of the retail price — and when your semester is over, you simply return it. No hassle, no trying to resell a used copy!
How long can I keep my rental?
To keep things simple, we rent books for semesters. Depending on when you rent the book, it will be due back at the end of the current semester. If you already have your rental, you can log in to your Customer Account to view your due date under “My Orders/Rentals”.
Do I have to pay for shipping to receive my rental?
As always, all $75+ orders qualify for FREE SHIPPING via USPS Media Mail (4-10 business day delivery). But, if time is of the essence, we offer expedited shipping options as well. You can view our Shipping FAQs here. When it’s time to return your rental, we pick up the tab on any rental returned after 30+ days, and you can print out a pre-paid USPS shipping label from your Customer Account.
How can I find when my rental book due?
All orders of $75 or more qualify for free shipping via USPS Media Mail (4–10 business days). Need it faster? We offer expedited shipping options as well — visit our Shipping FAQs for details. When it's time to return your rental, we cover the return shipping cost on any rental returned after 30 days. Visit our Returns FAQ to see Rental return instructions.
I get a message during checkout that says I can’t rent because my credit card expires too soon.
The credit card used for your rental must remain active through the month of your rental return. Since credit cards serve as collateral in the event of a late or non-return, we're unable to process a rental order if your card expires before or during the return month.

No — your return just needs to be dropped off at a USPS post office or handed to a USPS driver by the due date.  As long as your return is in transit by the due date, no late fee will be charged.
Can I return a book without using the pre-paid USPS label?
Yes, you can, however, you are responsible for assuming the shipping costs if you choose to not utilize our pre-paid USPS label. LawRewards FAQ
How do I earn LawRewards points?
LawRewards points are earned on each online purchase you make at BarristerBooks.com. On every online purchase you make at BarristerBooks.com, you will earn LawRewards points equal to the dollar amount of your order (after any discount or gift certificate redemption is applied, but before tax or shipping charges are applied), rounded down to the nearest whole dollar amount. For instance, if you purchase one item with a price of $9.95 and you redeem a 10% discount code, your order subtotal (before any tax or shipping) would be $8.96 and you would thus earn 8 LawRewards points on your purchase. LawRewards points are automatically deposited in your account following your checkout. LawRewards points are not earned on the shipping or tax amounts included in an order. In addition, LawRewards points cannot be earned on the purchase of gift certificates.
How do I redeem LawRewards points?
If you have at least 1 LawRewards point in your account, upon checkout of your next online purchase you will be asked if you would like to redeem your LawRewards points on your current purchase. For instance, if you purchase one item with a price of $9.95 and you redeem 100 LawRewards points, you would receive $1 off your order and your order subtotal would be $8.95 (before any applicable tax or shipping).
Is there a minimum amount of LawRewards point required for redemption?
Yes. You must redeem a minimum of 1 LawRewards points in order to receive the applicable order discount.
What if I return an item or items which earned me LawRewards points?

Can I earn or redeem points for orders placed via mail, phone or international orders?
Because the LawRewards program is entirely regulated through the BarristerBooks.com web site, only online orders qualify to earn or redeem LawRewards points. Orders placed via mail, phone or international orders do not qualify for the LawRewards program.

Law Textbook Buyback FAQ
What is the BarristerBooks.com Law School Textbook Buyback Program?
The Law School Textbook Buyback program allows students to sell their used law textbooks back for cash or BarristerBooks credit ("LawRewards"). The program is designed to help students save money by offering a way to recoup some of the costs of their textbooks while promoting sustainability through the reuse of materials.
How do I know if my law school textbook is eligible for buyback?
First, search your law school textbook's 13-digit ISBN in our Buyback search field. If your book does not appear or is not found, it means we are not currently purchasing that title currently. If your book does appear, eligibility for buyback depends on the condition of the book and current demand. Generally, textbooks that are in "very good" condition (e.g., no water damage, missing pages, no highlighting, or writing on more than 20% of the total page count) and are in their current edition are eligible.
How much will I get for my law school textbook?
The amount you’ll receive depends on the current demand for the textbook. You can choose to receive cash or even more in BarristerBooks/LawRewards store credit. To find out the buyback value for your textbook, you can simply enter the ISBN of your textbook in the search field and we will provide you both the cash and store credit amounts if we are currently buying your book.
How do I sell my law school textbooks?
To sell your textbooks, follow these steps:  Search for your textbooks using the ISBN number or title.  Check if your textbooks are eligible and review the buyback offers.  If you're satisfied with the offer, select your payment method (cash or store credit).  Ship your book(s) using a prepaid shipping label provided by BarristerBooks.  Receive your compensation after receipt in our warehouse.
What condition should my textbooks be in?
Textbooks should be in good condition to be eligible for buyback. Acceptable conditions include:  No water damage  No missing pages  No major tears or creases  Strong cover and binding/spine  Minimal writing or highlighting - less than 20% of the total page count of the book should contain writing/highlighting. If your textbook is damaged or heavily annotated, the buyback value will not be honored and your book will be recycled. We will not be able to ship the book back to you.
Is there a limit to how many textbooks I can sell?
While we do have cap limiits on the number of any particular textbook will purchase, there is no limit to how many textbooks you can sell as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. However, if you have a large number of textbooks, it’s a good idea to contact BarristerBooks at 877-856-2772 to ensure a smooth process.
What if my textbook isn’t accepted for buyback?
If your textbook is not accepted for buyback, you can consider donating it, recycling it, or keeping it for personal use. Some local organizations or law schools may accept donations of used textbooks.
How will I receive payment for my textbooks?
Once your textbooks are accepted, you can choose to receive payment via check mailed to the address you provide or store credit. Store credit can be used for future purchases at BarristerBooks.com in the form of LawRewards. Payments are typically processed within a few business days after receipt at our warehouse.
What should I do if I need assistance with the buyback process?
If you have any questions or need help with the buyback process, please contact our support team at 866-808-5635 or email us at custserv@barristerbooks.com. Our support hours are 10am-4pm CST Monday through Friday.
How do I ship my eligible buyback to BarristerBooks?
Once you complete the buyback process, you will receive a pre-paid US Postal Service label that you can print and affix to a box containing the buyback. Please ensure that you securely package the book in a box you provide so that it is not damaged in transit. We are not responsible for textbooks that are damaged or lost in transit to us. You can drop this package off at the post office, a post office box, or hand to your local postal carrier.
